Home Building Options

Most homeowners have several options when it comes build their own home or house extension.  Either engage the right professionals right from the start or you don't being the main two.

Between these two obvious choices there is a range of intermediate options. Perhaps the client prefers the 'design an build' option with just the one company where they approach a development company to build a structure to a predefined budget and they will design it as well to fit the budget.  Could this be the tail wagging the dog?

Another home building option or variation could be that the client will project manage the building scheme themselves but requires expert design advice and documentation from their selected design professional usually being and Architect, Technician or Building Surveyor.

The home building options available to most clients are numerous but most seem to revolve around the extent of the input you would require from your selected building designer. Most offer a partial service or a full service where the home extension designer is in full control of the design and during the build on site. This is commonly known as a 'full fee service'.
